Finally, Gilgamesh found a man named Utnapishtim, who had been given eternal life by the gods. Utnapishtim told Gilgamesh that immortality was a gift only for the gods. He told Gilgamesh a story about a great flood, like the story of Noah’s Ark, and explained that humans must accept death as part of life.
Part 7: The Return to Uruk
Gilgamesh returned to Uruk, tired and sad. But he learned something important: he could not live forever, but his deeds could. He decided to be a good king and take care of his people. He understood that helping others and building something lasting was the best way to be remembered.
